Site-specific
Professionally, I’m interested in designing frameworks: Systems of rules that are readable, and thus, require others to interpret and realize them. I am comfortable offering my own interpretation. But as their designer, I enjoy my perspective becoming one of many over time, to the extend that it may not be present in the finished work at all – as long as I was able to establish a successful framework. Working this way, the aim of design becomes to generate momentum and energy, to create a viable environment, as much as it is to define functionally and aesthetically viable solutions.
You don’t design the space, you design the way of building a space. You don’t plan the building, you plan a construction site.
